AKATEK, a technical yarn and fabric manufacturer serving to heat & flame protective garment manufacturers, is a company owned by Kivanc Group, which has been serving the industry since 1980.

Our 2,500 m² headquarters is located in Istanbul, and our 20,000 m² production facility is based in Antalya.

At our ring spinning mill in Antalya Organized Industrial Zone with a capacity of 10,800 spindles, mostly flame-resistant technical yarns are produced with an annual capacity of 1,000 tons; and 2 million meters of technical fabric are produced annually on our 16 high technology weaving looms.

With the Solar Power Plant (SPP) installed on the roof of our factory at the beginning of 2022, we have embraced sustainability in energy production. Together with the second phase of the plant, completed at the beginning of 2024, a total of 2,200 MWh of electricity will be produced annually, 1,100 tons of carbon dioxide emissions will be prevented, and 2,630 trees will be saved. AKATEK holds certifications including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Global Recycled Standard (GRS), Recycled Claim Standard (RCS), and Organic Content Standard (OCS). In addition, our yarns and fabrics are certified according to OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100.

AKATEK, a member of the Turkish Quality Association (KalDer), has signed the National Quality Movement Declaration of Goodwill and is committed to continuously improving its processes in line with the EFQM Model to strengthen its leading position in the industry. The General Manager of Akatek is among the first members representing Türkiye in the European Committee for Standardization (CEN).

The fabric used in the suit of Türkiye’s first astronaut, Alper Gezeravcı, was proudly manufactured by Akatek.
